Lashawn

Psychotherapist

*Accepting NEW clients in October*

Hi, I’m Lashawn Maddix, LCSWA. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate with a passion for helping individuals and families work through challenges, recognize their strengths, and make positive changes in their lives.

My professional journey began in the criminal justice field after earning my bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Fayetteville State University. Over the years, I found my passion in working directly with youth and families, particularly those involved with the juvenile justice system. This experience allowed me to support adolescents facing behavioral and emotional challenges while also working closely with their families to improve communication, strengthen relationships, and overcome barriers. Working with individuals from different backgrounds and life experiences has played a major role in shaping the therapist I am today.

My experiences in the field led me to pursue my Master of Social Work degree from East Carolina University. Since entering the mental health field, I have had the opportunity to work with children, adolescents, adults, and families in community-based settings. I have supported individuals experiencing challenges such as anxiety, depression, anger, stress, relationship and family concerns, difficulty adjusting to change, and everyday life stressors.

As a therapist, I understand that opening up to someone new is not always easy. My goal is to create a space where you can be yourself, feel heard, and know that you are not being judged. I believe in meeting my clients where they are while also challenging and encouraging them when needed. I don’t believe therapy has to feel intimidating or overly clinical. Sometimes, it starts with simply having a real conversation about what’s going on, where you want to be, and how we can work together to get you there.

I believe everyone’s journey looks different, and I look forward to helping my clients navigate theirs one step at a time.
